Hit the Broom Podcast - Episode 5

Episode 5 of the Hit The Broom podcast is now available!

Episode 5 includes a conversation with Jessica Schultz about the upcoming Manhattan Curling Cup - and what you can do to prepare for the competition.

Episode 5 also features a very special conversation with Paul Lukas and Phil Hecken from UniWatch about what curling teams wear, what informs their uniform design choices - and what role curling uniforms could play in expanding the fan base for the sport. Both Paul and Phil are curlers and curling fans - they both live in Brooklyn and curl regularly as a part of their local club. Phil has also written some of the most comprehensive explorations about curling uniforms in the Olympics you will find anywhere. Links are here and here.

NOTE: For those of you who aren’t yet deeply obsessed with Phil and Paul’s work: Uni Watch is a media project that deconstructs the finer points of sports uniforms in obsessive and excruciating detail. It has nothing to do with fashion — it’s about documenting and maintaining the visual history of sports design, and about minutiae fetishism as its own reward. Check it out at www.Uni-Watch.com.
